Sun Room in Bali, the light that follows the rhythm of the sun

Designed by Studio Nimmersatt, this space blends modern elegance with a welcoming atmosphere, harmoniously adapting to different moments of the day.

Lighting was a central element in realising the client’s vision, whose aim was to transform a historic Canggu building into a vibrant venue, combining the charm of a mid-century holiday home with the energy of Bali’s nightlife. Longtime Restaurant & Bar was conceived to stay open from lunchtime until late at night, accompanying guests from aperitifs to midnight cocktails, with music and sharing. For this reason, the lighting design had to follow the natural flow of the day, creating a harmonious transition between bright, welcoming spaces during the day and a more intimate, intriguing atmosphere in the evening.

The A24 light bulbs by BeBulbs play a key role in the project. Thanks to carefully designed lighting that evolves throughout the day, the Sun Room moves from a bright light at lunchtime to a softer, more intimate atmosphere in the evening. An effect that evokes the cycle of the sun, emphasising comfort and a sense of welcome. The copper-coloured hemisphere of the bulb not only enhances the aesthetics, but also recalls the sun theme at any time of day or night.

The choice between warm and cool light (find out more here) is essential for defining the atmosphere of a space. While cooler tones promote focus and energy, warmer tones create intimacy and relaxation. The lighting in the Sun Room demonstrates how thoughtful design can use these principles to offer a unique experience, where light is not only functional but also emotional.
