FAQ

Product installation

How do you strip a cord?

To strip a fabric-covered cord, you’ll need some tape, a pair of scissors, and, optionally, a pair of electrician’s pliers.

  1. Cut a piece of adhesive tape and wrap it around the fabric cable you want to strip, about two centimeters from the end. This way, when you strip the cord, its fabric won't unravel completely.
  2. With scissors, cut the cord near the adhesive tape. Be careful to cut only the fabric and the plastic sheath, not the electrical wire inside. Now, the electrical wire should be exposed. Slide off the fabric and plastic sheath to reveal the electrical wire.
  3. Finally, to remove the plastic coating from the electrical wire and expose the metal strands, you can use electrician's pliers to cut the coating. Alternatively, using scissors, you can apply some pressure to the coating. By doing so, you should now be able to slide it off and expose the metal strands.
