The award that celebrates responsible design
Organised by Kiki Lab in collaboration with MILANO HOME Exhibition, the KI-Life Sustainable Award, now in its 4th edition, celebrates projects and products that embody the values of sustainable development, social responsibility and respect for the environment. Among the 27 finalists, the jury, chaired by Fabrizio Valente (founder and CEO of Kiki Lab), declared Cabless the overall winner, recognising it as a perfect combination of craftsmanship, technological innovation and responsible design.

The meeting of artisanal tradition and modern technology
Cabless is much more than a simple portable lamp: it is a statement of sustainability that combines Italian artisanal excellence with responsible technological innovation. Made from FSC-certified alder wood sourced from Val Imagna, Cabless carries with it a story of environmental respect. The wood used comes from tree stumps, eliminating the need to fell trees – a choice that demonstrates a commitment to protecting natural resources. Thanks to its fully dismantlable design, every component of the lamp can be easily replaced or repaired, embracing the philosophy of the "right to repair", which counters planned obsolescence and promotes more ethical consumption. Furthermore, the decision to exclude the USB-C cable from the packaging follows the European Community guidelines to reduce electronic waste, encouraging the reuse of existing cables.
A made in Italy product looking to the future
In addition to its sustainable design, Cabless features a rechargeable battery and a LED light bulb, both of which can be replaced, making the product even more durable and environmentally conscious. Each lamp is made in Italy, combining environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and appreciation of local heritage.
