Two bathrooms become true theatrical sets. The first is enveloped in a warm, saturated and bold red. The second plays with geometry and glossy midnight blue tiles. Two bold, expressive spaces with daring palettes. And in both, it is the lighting that defines the balance between volume, colour and atmosphere.
In the heart of Logroño, architect David D. Iriondo has transformed two bathrooms into bold statements of character and colour, thanks to a courageous and well-judged use of tiles. The first features them in garnet, an earthy red shade that brings warmth and character to the space, the second in a deep blue full of personality. In such a rich setting, the role of light becomes crucial. Not just for functionality, but to enhance materials, shapes and emotions. For this reason too, Creative Cables has proved to be a valuable ally.
As part of the Fuorisalone 2025, the event transformed our store in via De Amicis into an exhibition, where light took on unexpected forms, the result of creations from across Europe. Visitors had the opportunity to explore its endless possibilities, admiring artistic installations and innovative designs that defy every convention.
Red bathroom lighting: the warm colour that embraces
Garnet-coloured tiles cover the floors and walls like a second skin. The surface is glossy, almost glass-like. In such a setting, every light point reflects, vibrates, and multiplies. The lighting should accompany and enhance the feeling of warmth and substance. Here are the main elements for successful lighting:
- Colour temperature: 2700K, to further warm the shade of the ceramics.
- Lamp holder in ceramic or satin metal to soften reflections and maintain colour depth.
- The wall lamp, mounted symmetrically above the mirror, becomes a focal point, but without disrupting the colour harmony.
With a tone-on-tone cable (copper, rust or burgundy, for example) and a lamp holder in matt metal or ceramic, the light ceases to be an addition: it becomes part of the colour. For an intimate and vibrant effect, with the light becoming part of the material, not something added on.

Blue bathroom lighting: relief and precision
The second bathroom is its opposite: a cooler palette, with cobalt blue tiles that react to the light in a geometric way. Here, the challenge is not only aesthetic but optical: you need a light that doesn’t flatten but enhances the shadows, plays with the reliefs, and creates dynamism.
- Colour temperature: 3000K-3500K, more neutral to maintain the chromatic fidelity of the blue.
- Lamp holder in matte ceramic or satin metal to soften reflections and maintain colour depth.
- A contrasting cable (for example, mustard or graphite) can highlight the presence of the lamp without disrupting its harmony with the environment.
In this context, the lamp itself becomes technical, precise, almost sculptural.

Light as a colour ally
When working with bold coverings – glazed tiles, embossed ceramics, saturated colours – the lighting cannot be neutral. It must be precise, considered, and consistent with the visual rhythm of the space.
Three approaches that work:
1. Targeted light that enhances the material
A lamp with an adjustable joint or a wall system with an extendable arm allows you to create focused accents. The mirrored effect of the tiles, for example, can be emphasised by a narrow beam of warm light, creating dynamic reflections and unexpected depth.
2. Light tones that speak the language of colour
In spaces with intense tones, the colour temperature of the light should be chosen with the same care as a fabric or finish. Warm light (2700K) amplifies the depth of forest green or terracotta; a more neutral light (3000K) faithfully brings out the vibrancy of blues and yellows.
3. Shapes and materials in dialogue with the covering
A glazed ceramic lamp or a light bulb in opaline glass, perhaps paired with brushed brass details, can echo the hues or reflections of the tiles. The result? Stylistic coherence that doesn’t imitate, but harmonises.
A tailored approach to lighting
What inspires us most in this project is the message: even in “functional” spaces like the bathroom, every element can (and should) speak the same language. Including the light.
With our modular system and the creative freedom we offer – between cables, lamp holders, finishes, light sources and accessories – every bathroom lamp can be tailor-made. Not just any light source, but a design object integrated into the project.
