The Cavallerizza Reale in Turin is increasingly becoming a reference point for art and creativity with Paratissima, which is expanding its activities and extending into another wing of the complex. Over 10,000 m² of exhibition space now includes the Artillery and the Courtyard of the Manica del Mosca. The EIVA Outdoor IP65 system lights up the outdoor areas.
The new space dedicated to cultural projects, activities and events opened its doors on 23 June 2022 with an inauguration – dedicated to the memory of Francesco Convertini – featuring the Ephemera exhibition and installations by Daniel Gonzàlez, Anonima Luci and Katatonic Silentio.
Absolute simplicity and extreme consistency are the foundations of the lighting system designed by Guido Parenzan to “enhance the space, while preserving the essential character and refinement of this location with its eighteenth-century connections, and its elegant succession of arches and vaults.” In the future, this venue will host artistic installations that may be very different from one another.
Over 200 metres of textile cable, 27 lamp holders and 19 T-joints, all strictly patented for outdoor use, were used in the realisation of the project, which is divided into three areas. Along the entire central axis of the portico, over 5 metres high, the jute textile cable descends in line with the arch of each vault, blending in with the wall.
Twelve fabric-covered cables, each two metres long, run down and end with the EIVA lamp holder in mustard and porcelain-effect light bulbs. The result is striking, yet functional and delicate.
Seven pendants have been placed along the perimeter of the porch, to brighten the courtyard, which is also equipped for the bar. To the EIVA lamp holders in mustard colour, high-brightness light bulbs have been paired.
The entrance to the exhibition was enhanced by the Cage chandelier with eight drops. Red textile cable, EIVA Elegant lamp holder and smokey G125 filament light bulbs to illuminate and at the same time enhance the space.
